A Sims-style life sim set in Lagos, with real players.
Lagos Life is a free browser life-simulation game set in a virtual Lagos, Nigeria, with real players. You create a character, find work, earn and spend in-game naira, pay rent, and hang out with other players across a shared world of recognizable Lagos spots — no download needed. It launched in early October 2026, took Nigerian social media by storm, and was created by Shalom Rayhamen, a UK-based Nigerian developer; the service is operated by Vatar, Nigeria. This page explains what the game is, how it plays, and where to play it officially.
What is Lagos Life?
Lagos Life belongs to the life-simulation genre: instead of levels and bosses, the game models everyday routines — work, money, housing, food, transport, nightlife and social life — in a Nigerian setting. Its creator has said she drew inspiration from The Sims 3, so if you have played a Sims-style game, the loop will feel familiar; the difference is that Lagos Life is multiplayer, with other real players sharing the same world in real time.
The game leans into everyday Lagos culture. Its official description promises danfo rides, amala at Shitta, parties at Quilox and surviving NEPA power cuts, and the in-game map reflects that: venues range from the Afrika Shrine and Freedom Park to Marina Towers, The Palms, Eko Hotels and the UNILAG campus.
Everything is a fictional take on real life. The operator’s disclaimer is explicit that Lagos Life simulates cities, businesses, transportation, relationships, employment, finance, property, government, law enforcement and social activity, but that scenarios may be exaggerated, simplified or invented, and that no depiction should be read as a faithful representation of any real person, brand or institution. Lagos is the starting city, and the terms of use describe one shared game world that can contain simulated versions of other Nigerian locations as well; for gameplay, real places may be compressed, relocated, renamed or adapted.
Gameplay
Lagos Life drops you into a simulated Lagos that other players inhabit at the same time. You start by creating a character and choosing one of two opening profiles:
- Nepo — short for “nepo baby”: your character is born into money and connections.
- Lapo — a nod to LAPO Microfinance Bank: your character starts with little and relies on small loans.
Your starting profile sets the tone of the run. From there the loop is everyday Lagos life: find work, earn and spend in-game naira, keep up with rent, and socialize with other players along the way. The official entry map shows more than thirty named venues — among them Amala Shitta, CcHub, the General Hospital, Mama Bisi’s Salon, Eko Casino, the Stadium, Jibowu Park and a beach — and riding a danfo or eating amala is part of the experience.
Money in the game is called Game Naira (₦). It is a fictional currency: it is not Nigerian legal tender, is not issued or backed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, and exists only inside the game. The game is free to start, but it also sells Game Naira for real-money purchases, so spending is optional rather than required. Lagos Life is intended for players aged 18 and over.
Controls
Lagos Life is played entirely in the browser with an on-screen interface:
- Pick a named location on the interactive world map — tap on mobile, click on desktop.
- Type in the chat to talk with other players in real time.
- There is nothing to install and no game controller; on iPhone, the site asks for iOS 16.4 or newer.
Your progress is saved on the game’s servers rather than on your device, so you can switch between desktop and mobile browsers and continue where you left off. The site also works as a web app: from a supported browser you can install Lagos Life to your home screen and open it in its own window, like an installed app.
Developer and inspiration
Shalom Rayhamen built Lagos Life as an independent project and has described herself as its only coder. She has said she drew inspiration from The Sims 3 and from Lagos Run, a Nigerian browser game about driving a danfo. The Lagos Life service itself is operated by Vatar, Nigeria. The game is played in English.
Where to play
Play Lagos Life on the official site in any modern desktop or mobile browser. You create a free account — display name, username, email and password — to enter the shared world, and the character setup includes a man-or-woman avatar selection. Keep in mind that your username, display name, profile and avatar are visible to other players, since the game is social by design. The operator lists lagoslife.app and lagoslife.eliysites.com as its official domains; treat look-alike sites with similar names as unverified.
GameClick lists this page as information rather than a playable embed because Lagos Life is not distributed through the licensed browser-game networks we embed from. Follow the official link above to play.

Why can’t I play Lagos Life on GameClick?
